Nice. Marcos in the back ground.
I love the whole Anglo-american nature (British car with a 500bhp Ford Cobra V8 with sub 4secs 0-60) of these cars.

So many pointless body lines. I should hate it... but alas, I cannot. So much want.

Some Marcoses indeed use American V8s, but I seem to remember the Lister Storm has quad-cam Jaguar V12?
There was a wonderful anecdote about a British journalist getting caught speeding in a Storm in some country road. The (female) magistrate later asked the “Pray, sirs, what is a Lister Storm?”
She was told it was “a high-performance car with a seven-litre V12 Jaguar engine”. The fine, it seems, was commensurate with the fact.

I don’t recall ever knowing Lister did a road car. I knew they raced but never heard of a road going version.

They made something like 4 road cars to homologate for one of the series they were racing in. This was back in the Jaguar XJ220 and MB CLK-GTR era of LeMans where very limited runs of road-going race cars were being built by several makers.

Yeah that’s pretty much the reason I know that this exists.

I honestly wonder what Gran Turismo will do for residual values on random cars like these that otherwise wouldn’t be remembered all that much once our “PlayStation Generation” gets old / wealthy.

When I was a kid it was pretty much Marcos and TVR for me. You, cars of that nature anyway.
There was always something that appealed to me but I also loved the other end of the scale, the quiet, relaxed beautiful styling of classic cars such as the 1955 Lancia Aurelia b24 Spider America. Such as this white one with blood red leather interior and wire wheels. If I saw it in person I, well, I don’t know how my body or brain would react to be honest.

The anecdote was told by Simon Taylor in his regular section “Full Throttle” in
Classic & Sportscar.
At the time Lister would also sell uprated XJS with huge V12s. The development work on the V12s led ultimately to the Lister Storm’s engine.
Of course that “Lister” is not quite the same as the famous company that built the cars made famous by, say, Archie Scott-Brown.

There is something so perfect about an Italian car in white with a red interior.

That sweeping diagonal line which becomes the wing is fantastic. If the fender/hood blister was toned down I’d really love it.

Especially when it’s an open top.
It works for other countries of the period also.
